Fairground Engineering
Build a fairground ride using the construction kit K'Nex and a wind up motor. Suitable for Y3-Y6. 60-75 minutes. Up to 40 children.
Cranes & Bridges
Build a working model of a crane or a lifting bridge out of the construction kit K'Nex. Suitable for Y4-Y6. 2 hours. Up to 80 children.
Tower Building
Rigid towers are built from paper tubes joined with nuts and bolts. Structures are tested to see how strong they are. Suitable for Y4-Y6. 60-90 minutes. Up to 100 children.
Marble Mazes
Make a route for a marble to travel down as slowly as possible without stopping. This session involves lots of experimenting and accurate timing. Suitable for Y2-Y6. 45-60 minutes. Up to 50 children.
Treacle Timers
Make an accurate timer from a variety of viscous liquids including bubble bath, cooking oil and washing up liquid. Suitable for Y4-Y6. 60-75 minutes. Up to 35 children
Torches, Torches
Make a torch from a variety of materials. This session increases understanding of circuits. Suitable for Y4-Y6. 45-60 minutes. Up to 35 children.
