Interactive Shows for Oxfordshire Primary SchoolsAll shows are interactive, with lots of audience participation and can be performed for up to 70 pupils.

Odd One Out (KS1, up to 70 pupils, 30-45 minutes)
Basketball, tennis ball, play dough ball and sponge ball - which is the odd one out and why? This show incorporates several aspects of the science curriculum from materials and their properties to uses of energy.

Discover Materials Show and Workshop (KS1, up to 60 pupils, 60-120 minutes)
The show presents a range of different materials and challenges, from which the children have to work out the odd one out. It also explores how easily different materials break. The workshop involves sorting materials by their properties and by their use, and finally everyone gets a chance to make 'slime'. The show lasts 30 minutes and is followed by workshops which also last 30 minutes. Up to 60 children for the show and 30 for each of the two successive workshops. Please note this is equivalent in price to two shows. Extra adult help from the school will be needed for this workshop!

The Science of Magic Show (Year 2-6, up to 70 pupils, 45-60 minutes)
It's not magic, it's science! This show has pupils racking their brains to figure out the science behind amazing magic tricks. Topics covered include magnets, friction, pressure, floating and sinking.

Cartoon Science (KS2, up to 70 pupils, 60 minutes)
This multimedia show compares scientific laws which apparently work in cartoons with what happens in the real world. Specially commissioned cartoons and a range of engaging demonstrations are presented. This show covers many national curriculum areas including forces, reversible and irreversible reactions, pressure and optical illusions.

The Odd One Out Show (KS2, up to 70 pupils, 45-60 minutes)
This show challenges children to find the odd one out from a sets of experiments on smells, sounds, materials and more. Covers many National Curriculum areas including light, electricity, materials, senses and the human body. Good revision for SATS.

The Flight Show (Year 5-6, up to 70 pupils, 45-60 minutes)
Have you ever wondered how many helium balloons it would take to lift a child or how a plane stays up in the air? This show answers those questions and looks at the forces involved in lighter-than-air and powered flight.

Joining Forces (KS2, up to 70 pupils, 45-60 minutes)
Pupils discover the properties of forces in this interactive show with a story. Great for SATS revision, this show covers magnetism, gravity, air resistance, friction, pushes, pulls, measuring forces and the direction of forces. Build a bridge without any mortar, stand on light bulbs, and try and crush an egg! Particularly suitable for Years 5-6

Could It be You? (Year 5-6, up to 70 pupils, 45-60 minutes)
A look at the probability and chance involving plenty of audience participation and finishing with looking at just how likely you are to win the National Lottery. This show challenges the audience to think about the relative likelihood of various events as well as working out some simple probabilities involving things such as dice, cards and coins, and comparing them with experimental results.

Wobbly Woo Music Show (KS1, up to 30 pupils, 30-45 minutes)
Pupils explore the science of sound and music through an interactive story. Concepts are investigated through the use of everyday materials that are turned into instruments. The show finale encompasses the wholes group participating in a music extravaganza!
