How to use an ambassador in your school
If you work in a school that would like to make a link with an ambassador then all you need to do is contact our SEAs Manager, Jo Hodges (see below). The sorts of activities that ambassadors can be used to help with include:
- Giving talks on a specific topic, or on their career
- running workshops etc.
- Careers guidance
- Helping to set up/run a science club, science day or science week
- Helping schools to develop links with local organisations
- Updating teacher/student knowledge about contemporary science
- Classroom Assistant for a practical lesson
What areas could MKOB SEAs help with?
Here are some specific talks and workshops that local SEAs have developed.
If you would like to book a SEA to do a particular talk, or to help with a topic that you have read on the list, please decide first when you would like the SEA to come in, and then contact Jo Hodges (see below). We will find out if any relevant SEAs are available and you put you in touch with them.
Quotes from Teachers
“Thank you so much for adding some real zest to my Science Week! Much enjoyed by children (and staff!); particularly appreciative were the Year 6 staff who found the demonstration a useful and fun way to revise for the SATs!”
Science co-ordinator, Southwood Primary School
“Thank you so much for finding the time in your busy week to come and talk to the children about the sun and fusion power. Your visit was much appreciated by the staff and children alike. It is obvious from your presentations that you enjoy talking to the children and sharing your knowledge with them through a variety of fun and interesting activities and experiments. The children (and adults!) were captivated throughout.”
Science Week Organiser, Sonning Common Primary School
