Interim Management Senior management in many pharmaceutical or biotech companies large or small will be focussed on clinical and business development and often on both. The responsibility for the overall running of the business does require key skills often outside of the commercial or clinical development skill set. Moffat Dickson offers interim consultancy at Director level for those client companies that require general management expertise within their organisation. For a company concentrating on the clinical development of new compounds or involved in the commercial area strong and effective general management is always a key factor. Successful general management makes a significant contribution to the success of any company by ensuring that the direction and deliverables set by the Board of Directors on behalf of shareholders are managed effectively and delivered. This ensures that those deliverables come in on time and within budget. Moffat Dickson has direct experience in offering solutions for clients who require this expertise. Interim management from Moffat Dickson can also be utilised where an overseas client is establishing a UK operation. The Moffat Dickson Forum This is an EU database of key opinion leaders at Professor and Senior Consultant level in urology and oncology who John personally worked with in the development of the anti- cancer drug Mitomycin-C for more than 15 years. Other therapeutic areas including cardiology are being added. A client company may want to access a Moffat Dickson Forum Member with specialist knowledge, who is often a key opinion leader in their own field, who can work directly on a consultancy basis with the client. Once the required client profile for a senior clinician or surgeon is known a number of Forum Members will be approached directly by Moffat Dickson and an anonymous profile will then be provided to the client. If the client agrees to the choice of Forum Member including their fees for service then both parties are put in contact. Moffat Dickson charges a one off access fee for finding a suitable Forum Member and managing the process. This is ideal if the client is based outside of the UK and needs the Moffat Dickson Forum Member to provide either the current status on the management of a particular disease or an expert report on a compound in development. Moffat Dickson can take directly from a client a brief on the current status of a particular therapeutic area across a wide range, a specific market or product area and provide an in depth clinical or technical report as well as a commercial evaluation of any compound or established product often utilsing members of the Moffat Dickson Forum. Network of Associate Companies Moffat Dickson has a limited network of associate companies which derives from John's personal direct experience with these associates in both the clinical and business development area. All associates at some time have been working with John on a variety of projects. Associates are small and mid sized companies who have a strong track record in their area of expertise and provide an external resource as service providers in a cost efficient way to the pharmaceutical or biotech sector. They understand the demands and requirements of a small or mid sized client that is always under pressure to deliver on time and within budget. In addition where clients request, Moffat Dickson can remain as an integral part of the business relationship with an associate company to ensure efficient management of the assignment as well as communication between all parties. This is particularly useful for a client based outside of the UK who requires a project management involvement from Moffat Dickson. An example of an associate company is one that provides contract staff such as Clinical Trial Administrators, Clinical Research Associates and Project Managers. Assignments are provided on a short or long term basis. This Moffat Dickson associate company through their activity also contribute to the creation and maintenance of the client's internal document management system and standards which in turn are always required to meet Government Regulatory inspections. |
