Full Profile:
Infineum is one of the world's leading developers, manufacturers and marketers of petroleum additives used primarily in automotive, heavy-duty diesel and marine engines, along with additives for fuels and refineries. Infineum has its corporate headquarters and EMEA regional business and technology centre at Milton Hill in the UK. There are two further regional business and technology centres in the US and Singapore. Infineum's customers are oil companies and other lubricant and fuel marketers. The Infineum product line also includes specialty lubricant additives for 2 and 4 stroke engines, automotive transmission fluids, gear and industrial oils.
A major driver for our business is the reduction of the environmental impact associated with transportation. Infineum additive technology is underpinned by a world-wide research and development, manufacturing and supply network

Set up in January 1999, Infineum is a 50/50 joint venture between ExxonMobil and Shell, bringing their respective Additives Divisions (Paramins and Shell Additives) together.

Infineum has an annual turnover of approx $2.2 billion, and is one of the world's leaders in petroleum additive technology.

Infineum has recently made a multimillion pound investment in new technology facilities at its Milton Hill site. The facilities comprise of two buildings, named after eminent British engineers James Watt and Osborne Reynolds. The James Watt building which is a state of the art technology centre, houses ten laboratories and office accommodation for approximately 200 research and development scientists. An additional building to house 'pilot-scale' blending operations and 'process scale-up' activities named after Osborne Reynolds is also built in the same complex.

Investing in these new facilities enables Infineum to stay at the forefront of technology in this specialised industry. Our customers want value for money and competitive advantage; our focus is to deliver both. At no time has this been more important as increasingly stringent environmental legislation and pressures on global raw material costs drive advances in our industry.
