Science Oxford Hosts Prestigious Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition

It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words so what best way of provoking an awareness of conservation and raising the profile of wildlife than hosting the most prestigious wildlife photography exhibition. Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year is owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Wildlife Magazine, and is sponsored by Shell. With a history spanning more than 40 years, it is an international leader in the artistic representation of the natural world. After its debut at the Natural History Museum in London, the exhibition toured nationally and internationally with its last stop at Science Oxford from Monday 10 November 2008 to Saturday 3 January 2009.

Dominic McDonald, Head of Public Programmes at Science Oxford says 'We are delighted to be bringing back to Oxford this stunning exhibition for the first time in years.'

Alongside 'Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year', Science Oxford will be running events for the general public including talks about saving the Asian apes and searching for the Yeti, family activities such as Owls Galore and our Science Oxford Christmas Lecture with Nick Baker and his wild weird creatures.
