The Oxford Trust
ITsON - the new ICT networking initiative
The Oxford Trust is launching ITsON , a series of networking opportunities focused at the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
"About half of the businesses interacting with the Trust are ICT-based and we see a need for specific networking events for the industry," says Richard Mercer, the Business Support Manager at The Oxford Trust.
ITsON was born after consultation with the industry and the OxIT Cluster, which ceased activities a few years ago.
Six events over the next 12 months will bring together a suite of high-profile speakers, panel discussions and networking opportunities with the long-term view of building onto the existing ICT networks, further supporting the local and regional industry.
Richard adds that, "the aim is to use the ITsON series as a platform for the ICT sector to re-build an effective and regular network that will facilitate communications, partnerships and collaborations. The Oxford Trust is co-ordinating the series on behalf of the industry and we welcome all comments and criticisms that will help us to provide events that meet specific needs."
Dr Jan Hruska, co-founder of Sophos, will launch the series with a keynote presentation on the 23rd July 2008 at Science Oxford, home of The Oxford Trust.
