Future Events Calendar- Project: Networks
Networking Organisations Working Together For Improved Success
Project: Networks is a new Internet based project that facilitates communication between event running organisations. You may have received a call, email or letter inviting you to take part – and if you haven’t I’m sure you will soon! The overall aim of the project is for Oxfordshire’s event running organisations to be able to share details of forthcoming events with ease.
The project will facilitate communication by two main methods:
- This website – The website contains the link to sign up for the Events Calendar. The calendar displays a summary of upcoming events for the next rolling 12 months.
- An update email – There is a fortnightly email for members of 'Networks' that will contain the Events Calendar. The email also contains details of how to add events to the diary.
The benefits of such a scheme are as follows:
- Avoid Clashes – With this system any member of the Networks group will be able to check the diary to see if any other organisation is hosting an event on that date, so as to avoid competing for an audience.
- Ensure similar events are not being held – The online diary will not only allow one to see if another event is planned for your date but also what the event may be. This will therefore allow one to adjust ideas to ensure your event is fresh and original.
- Maximise attendance at events – By using this system it will be possible to maximise attendance at your events by ensuring that no other events are being held on that day, or that a similar event is not arranged also.
- Making planning an event easier – The combination of the website service and the update email will mean that planning your event just got a lot easier. You will no longer have to check dozens of websites – this is now a crucial resource for event planning.
We need your input. The more networking organisations involved will lead to a more comprehensive calendar system. So if you are interested in getting involved please contact Mark Wearing on 01865 728953 or email mark.wearing@oxtrust.org.uk
This project is in an ongoing state of development and would be delighted to hear what you think.
