About The Innovation Team
The Oxford Trust was founded in 1985 with the aim of encouraging the study, application and communication of science, technology and engineering. Since this time the Trust has grown into a dynamic organisation that works within three key areas, business, schools, and general public.
The schools team work to support the teaching of science and technology by running innovative science events for pupils, providing teacher training, and also making information and resources available that encourage young people to consider study or careers in science, engineering and technology.
Our public programmes team facilitate public engagement with science by hosting events and exhibitions at Science Oxford and working with a range pf partners to make science and enterprise an integral part of the cultural map of Oxfordshire.
The innovation team work closely with the schools and the public teams to help facilitate the growth and development of technology businesses in Oxfordshire. We do this by highlighting success through our active website, providing information and resources, building relationships, and pioneering practical support activities in response to technology business needs.
The innovation team is headed by Dr Amanda Nolte. Richard Mercer is our Business Support Manager and works closely with the high-tech business community developing new initiatives and programmes. Dr Fiona Ord-Shrimpton is the Research Manager, leading the Trust's research and evaluation of Oxfordshire's high-tech economy, science and society, science communication and education. Jo Hodges is our Science Enterprise Manager responsible for developing and delivering the Trust's science enterprise activities with young people. In addition she manages the Science and Engineering Ambassadors Scheme. Mark Wearing is the team administrator responsible for coordinating our membership scheme and all website activities.
