Assessment
Gold is the highest level of BA CREST Award. Students must work with a mentor from industry or an academic institution.
A Gold Award can be given for students completing a Nuffield Science Bursary, and there is a special application form for those students.
Assessors will be looking for evidence of 100 hours of project work. Projects should show evidence of novel research or original problem solving and show considerable development by the student(s) from ideas generated. The investigation should be largely self-directed, with some help from an external Mentor. The teacher may provide guidance and help but should not tell students what to do.
